Early eighties, I was living in Austin, my good friend worked the club scene, bass player/sound man, I was a "kicker" - cowboy type, he invited me to Club Foot on 5th street, I reluctantly said OK. What I saw, changed my music tastes. I saw Wendy at her best, the show included her shaving cream "shirt", the shotgun, the chainsaw, the mohawks, and a video of her prior to the show. Full of energy. Amazing. My friend got us back stage to try to meet her. I walked away knowing that she was great, I type right now knowing that I can't put into words how great. Suffice to say, I still listen to the Plasmatics, I still love the song squirm and I still pass her music on. My two step children, listen to Wendy. By chance I happened on a web site, the day after she took her life. That day was sad, but sadder yet, is the fact that she hasn't been recognized by the music industry for what she is, THE BEST DAMN WOMAN IN ROCK HISTORY. PERIOD!
